My first Make up and Hair Styling Job

The title is quite deceiving, you might think it will be a gig or something like that hehe, well nothing biggie! Last weekend I have been asked by my niece to do her make up and curl her short hair for she will be attending their Graduation Ball. Geez, I remember she's like Tabachuchay before and now she just finished Elementary, how old am I?! So yeah I was excited and bit nervous for I will be doing hair and make up and I know that this is really important for her so it is a must to make her more beautiful. I don't have much tools and products to be a make up artist but that's okay, I guess I don't need a complicated make up for her anyway since she has a very young and flawless skin. So here's a picture of me doing her make up:

Sorry for the oily face and bulky tummy! :(

So the result?

The whole look:

Well, she liked it. (She doesn't have a choice anyway hehe) I asked her for like a hundred times about the make up, if it's nice, if she likes it, if she prefers this or that etc. I am really worried that it won't end up okay but I guess I did an acceptable one haha! Her make up stayed the whole night. (I just based it on her fb pics) I gave her a lip gloss so she can retouch after eating dinner. I just used moisturizer, mineral foundation (very minimal) eye make up, blush on, lip gloss and shimmery lipstick, we skipped the eyeliner and mascara because she doesn't like them. I just made the look light with a bit shimmers. I wanted to put bronzer on her but so sad that I still don't have that in my mini stash yet. Now I know what to buy next. I will be posting a make up wish list sometime. Oh too many make up wishes, hope I can buy them. Maybe one a time.

Hope you like her look pretty ladies.

How's your summer?

I am sure most of you have big plans for this summer already. Maybe Bora, Bohol, Cebu, Palawan, CDO, Batangas, Subic and so on.( these places are in my summer getaway checklist and have only been to Bora and Subic hehe) Anyway for tabachuchay here's her summer:

She just loves water!

Last year when I gave birth we didn't have a grand summer vacation unlike my other summers but I don't regret it though because being a mom is super awesome. So now me and the hubby is still planning on where to go this April but not considering taking a plane or super long hours of driving because having a 1-year old baby with you on the trip will not be that fun so maybe we are just thinking on going to Batangas which is nearer to Laguna or maybe Puerto Galera, but still having second thoughts about this one because it will require us and Tabachuchay to ride a roro. I also want to go to Anawangin, Zambales but it's not advisable to go there with a kid because you will have a hiking and camping scenario there. No resorts not even a public restroom, it will be a pure nature trip. It's a bit hard to decide especially when you are considering a kid with you, so I guess will just have to buy a bigger pool and swim with her, hehe just kidding. It's not really a priority for us to go somewhere this summer but I'd love to if we can. Maybe we'll just end up in Splash Island hehe. What I'm excited about is my trip to Zamboanga City this May with my 2 best friends and our family Bora vacation this November with my in laws. I guess that time Tabachuchay will be much easier to tag along on a trip.

How about you pretty ladies out there, where are you going to spend your summer?

What I'm using now?

Revlon Colorstay Mineral Mousse Foundation 020:
This is my first Liquid foundation. When I was planning for tabachuchay's first bday I really opted to do my own make up since I was starting to be addicted in following beauty bloggers, that helped a lot. I thought this is the first thing I should buy. I am really in a budget and was planning to stick to Mineral make ups since my skin is really not well with all the acne marks and scars with occasional break outs not to mention the super sensitive and oily state of it. I was really eyeing for this brand because my mom has a powder foundation from Revlon and I used it twice and my face didn't react. When I was in the counter the SA recommended this, given the condition of my skin.
 Yipee factors:
-Skin felt so soft once applied
-decent coverage - light to medium and very buildable
-feels light on my face
-easy to carry around with the plastic tube
-no whitish cast in photos
-oil control is quite good lasted for 4hrs without retouching (considering my super oily skin and perspiration)
-creamy texture with soft matte finish
-spf 20

Boo factors:
-the black tube that catches dirt easily
-there's a bit scent - can't describe it really hehe
-does not give heavy coverage so a very good conceler is a must on my face but if yours do not require concealing red spots etc this would do it no concealer needed

Overall I like this foundation because it didn't break me out and the soft matte finish it gives to my face is a love love.

Etude House Surprise Essence Concealer:
Before I was using Max Factor concealer stick it was pretty decent in covering my unwanted marks, spots and dark circles but it's cakey so I thought maybe concealer sticks are not for me (hehe just my opinion), then I came across the pink store: Etude House. I was always intrigued with this store, the pink ambiance and the cute SAs that I see with pink aprons so went there and bought this tiny liquid concealer. Now on to the review:

Yipee Factor:
-did not break me out (clap clap)
-nice coverage especially on my red spots
-does not dry up easily, you'll still have time to even it out
-inexpensive for 328 pesos
-the shade fit me, can't remember the number/name of the shade all I know is its the lightest one

Boo Factors:
-there's a stingy scent
-the doe foot applicator- not that sturdy
-the wordings in the tube is in Korean can't read the ingredients etc.
-too small for a concealer again it's just my opinion hehe

Weighing the pros over the cons overall this concealer is still good considering the price, it still gives a good coverage. But I guess I won't repurchase for I want to try other concealer brands. Eyeing on the Revlon colorstay concealer.

In2it blush: Denial
I remember when I was in college there were only two brands of blushes I used: Clinique and In2it since the first brand is way expensive for a college student with an average amount of allowance a month I sticked on the latter one hehe. I can't remember the price of it before. When I was in SM, looking for a nude lipstick to try on I saw the In2it counter and to my surprise there I saw the small blushes that I once used. It was like saying hi to me again, haha it made me reminisce a bit. So on to the swatch:

It's just so sad that the shade I want is out of stock and again the SA suggested that this shade is their best seller and will definitely fit my skin tone. Yep, I still don't know my skin tone especially the NC, NW etc that I always read in beauty blogs referring to Mac's skin guide. I still have to learn and read more on distinguishing your skin tone. I just rely to SAs and by trying it on first then if it looks good on me I buy it.Oh I also ask Zano for a second opinion maybe after 2 years Tabachuchay might be the third opinion hehe.

Yipee factor:
-it looks natural on me
-cute packaging (IMO)
-long wearing it lasted for about 4hrs on my cheeks that's when I'm on the go so I guess it will stay longer if I'm just in the office seating in an airconditioned room hehe, yep I don't wear make up in the office everyday but there are times that I do depends on my mood
-gives a matte finish no shimery effect (I chose to put this here co'z I'm not a fan of glittery or shimmery blushes I always go for matte ones
-inexpensive for 170 pesos - I actually got them on sale but can't remember the regular price
-comes with a small brush, super soft but I can't actually use it, it's too small

Boo factors:
-brush that's so small
-not that pigmented I have to swipe it 3 times or more for it to show off into my cheeks
-hmm can't think of anything else

Overall I like the effect of this blush on my cheeks love the shade too it. Will I repurchase? No, for I am drooling over the super raved about Nars blushes.

Nichido Satin Moist Lipstick in Natural:
I am currently using this one as my everyday lipstick. I love the natural effect on my lips. I feel sexy whenever I wear them. hehe It's just the right shade I want for an everyday use.

Yipee Factor:
-super inexpensive got them on sale for 100 pesos but I think the regular price is around 200 but still not bad eh
-no need to swipe twice or more, one swipe and the color will come out
-creamy texture
-satiny finish
-staying power is quite good maybe 2hrs without eating, drinking or wetting my lips with my tongue hehe

Boo factors:
-can be drying so a good lip balm is a must
-i don't like the packaging hehe
-hmm can't think of anything else

I really love this lipstick on me. Unexpectedly for the price of it, it really satisfied me. Truly there are still cheap make ups that can meet beyond our expectations and this is is one of them.Just sad that I did't buy all the other shades, poor me I was really broke that time :(

'Til my next post pretty ladies!
Pardon for the quality of the pictures need to work with my camera's settings.

If you have any thoughts on how I can make my blog better (just a newbie here), feel free to comment and send me an email!

My 1st Product Review: Amonche African Black Soap

Why did I chose this to be my pioneer post for a product review? Well, simply because this is my HG soap. I've been using this soap since December and I am really happy with it. I first saw this product from Ms. Shen's blog then googled the distributor, Bare Naturals. What decided me to try it was the location of their store. I'm from Binan, Laguna and the store is just in Muntinlupa so it was pretty near to me. I thought that I can drop by at their store and grab the products rather than ordering online and wait for my package to arrive. Ms. Lami (the distributor) and I had several exchange of emails and she did recommend this soap to me since it has a feature of lightening acne marks.

Got the picture from their site: http://barenaturals.multiply.com/

What it claims: (from their website)
Amonche black soap is specially formulated entirely from ALL natural ingredients. This soap restores damaged skin and is helpful in healing chronic eczema, acne, freckles, and dark spots. Yes it can lighten the skin!

It has a "built-in" makeup cleanser and toner and you are guaranteed everytime that it thoroughly cleanses the skin for impurities.

Made from tropical honey, shea butter, cocoa pod, aloe vera, and other all-natural ingredients. This amazing soap is made to soften skin, heal signs of aging or scarring, and revitalize your skin.

Ingredients: Pure honey, Shea butter, Osun (Camwood), Potassium Palmkernelate, Sodium Palm Kernelate, Glycerine, Aloe Vera, Lime Juice, Lemon Juice, Water and Essential Oils for Fragrance.
It mentioned in their website that the ingredient glycerine attracts water so a good soap dish is a must. I cut the soap into two and until now I'm still on the first half of it. This is my HG soap, it had lighten my acne marks and made my skin soft. Whenever I have my monthly visitor hehe, two or three zits will come out and this soap have saved me from them. I'll just wash my face with it and after 3 days the zits will be gone, even the big and nasty ones (eew)! I used it every morning  and night. It also saved me from some make ups that didn't react well on my face.

Yipee!!! factors:
  • made from natural ingredients
  • lightened my acne marks
  • removes make up
  • inexpensive for the price of 248 pesos
  • it lessen oiliness
  • locally available from barenaturals site
Boo!!! factors:
  • it has a scent that might bother some
  • might melt terribly if not properly stored
  • might cause allergy or pimples to others so it is important to do a patch test first

Overall this is my savior hehe. I am still using this soap and have not failed me so far. I will definitely repurchase.
Hope this helps pretty ladies out there.

Who's Tabachuchay?

When I decided to have my own blog, of course I thought of a blog title. I came up with so many ideas in mind but then nothing amused nor satisfied me. While eating dinner I asked Zano (the hubby), what can be a good blog title, I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask him since he already had an idea that I wanted to have my own blog then he reckon "Tabachuchay's Beauty" still munching loads of rice and fish in his mouth. I laughed at the idea first because mostly of the blog titles that I visit are in English, have sophisticated or beauty related titles. I said "Are you serious?" then he replied "yeah since you are Tabachuchay's mom". Haha, yes that's one of our daughter's nickname and our favorite one I should say, well simply because she is fat, round and super heavy especially when she was around 4-6 months old, she really looks like a ball. We can't stop kissing and cuddling her. She is 1 year and 1 month old now not that round anymore but still our Tabachuchay huhu i miss her already since I'm still here in the office doing my post. I just hope my boss won't read this! :) I will end this post with Tabachuchay's latest picture:

I am now readying my product reviews, watch out for that pretty ladies, but pardon for it since I'm just a newbie! :)

Why Blogging?

It's been almost four months now that I started reading random blogs and have found out about the 'blogging world'. I was really fascinated on how people can speak their minds and tell almost everything they want. It was like a diary or journal of thoughts, experiences and anything under the sun. That's right, I was really that naive when it comes to technology but don't get me wrong I was an I.T. graduate..haha! It might be funny or stupid for some but I guess for me I thought it was not really my thing.

I started visiting different kinds of blogs when I was planning for my daughter's 1st birthday party that I came across parents and girl talk forums and didn't notice that I was directed to various of websites that has 'blogspots' on the URL..hehe then next thing I know I was blog hopping.

I just enjoyed following and reading blogs, first was from mommy blogs then food blogs, and now beauty blogs. I felt like every night I have to go to my computer and read different blogs for the whole night until morning. I was addicted to different beauty blogs from fab bloggers nationwide and worldwide. I discovered make up and instantly made a connection on it. Just a short flashback, way back in high school and college I never had an interest with make up and beauty products because in my entire adolescence stage I was acne prone, to the extent that there's nothing on my face to grow out zits. It's like having an alert of "no more space for new messages" in your cellphone but instead "new pimples" in your face. It was that tragic so I never really had guts to go to any make up counter and try on or swatch on anything that they offer, I felt embarrassed. But now that I am more mature and doesn't really care about others might think hehe and of course gone were the days that I was like a walking pimple though I have a lot of pimple scars and marks but Make up is here to save me!

My blog will tackle more of my life with my cute daughter and loving hubby plus some make up reviews but I won't consider my blog as a beauty blog since I really do not know how to put make up but I am really eager to learn so I think that's a work in progress hehe. I am now starting to buy affordable cosmetics and on my way to the make up and blogging world.Yipee! I hope I can do reviews on some products that will help out pretty ladies out there..
